I have a 5 gallon tank for a betta fish and was in need of some green marine looking decor because my fish likes to hide in places where she can see out but also blend into the background. This set has a selection of kelp like synthetic growths that just do exactly what they are supposed to do.Highly recommended.I have a 36-gallon bowfront aquarium, and this seems like a nice sized decoration set. The background sheet is the perfect height for my aquarium. The set includes 2 large green plan pieces and 2 small green plants that are all full and have no sharp edges. I like that the bases of the plants are heavy, keeping everything in place. The set also includes 2 detailed logs that are open at one end and feel like they are good quality. Overall, a nice set! This set includes a lot of options to use for decorating tank. The complete set would be a little snug and crowded in a 29 gallon or 20 long. I used half of the set in my 29 and if was a more comfortable fit for my fish. The plastic of the plants is stiff and slightly prickly, so my fish can not swim into or through the actual plant itself, so any areas of the tank the plants are in is non-swimmable tank space your fish probably won't be able to use. The empty space in the middle of mine collects dirt and debris and has to be cleaned well each water change. There is no suction cup on the plants, just a weighted base. Mine have mostly stayed in place. The logs are ceramic and are smooth, with no rough edges. Since they have only one open end, my fish were not interested in them. My mystery snails tried them out, but even they seemed to not like the limited space and ignored them quickly. They could be stood up on their open end, with closed end up, to look like a cut stump. This is an ok set to get your tank started. I don't think that I would use it in an established tank though (just my opinion). For one it looks way to fake. The "plants" are almost a glow in the dark green color that I couldn't get to match anything.Like all other Tetra products, this is a quality product and when they meant that it comes with enough material to decorate a 10 gallon tank, they do mean it as it comes in a pretty substantial box. My main issue with it is that because of the plastic mesh construction, the boxwood pieces can only be used when weighed down by gravel. Because of that, it can be harder to vaccuum the gravel when changing water, so it's probably best used with an under gravel filter, where the waste material can just be sucked under the gravel. The zen rocks are a little undersized and aren't the greatest material. But still, the other pieces are good quality and this would certainly give you some kind of an approximation of a planted tank. A good value overall.UPDATED - Saw oodles of algae out of seeming no where, and investigated further. Looks like the boxwoods were storing too much waste in them based on design. Also, the zen rocks began to leech white paint upon basic cleaning, sending this to the trash bin immediately. Thus, left with the basic plants, and done.**If you've got a decent size tank and are debating between the slew of artificial plant/decor options, look no further. This combo is such tremendous bang for the buck, and very high quality also customizable. To begin, this is the first time I've seen artificial boxwood as as an option. (I tried forever - and fruitlessly - to grow this in a natural environment. Now I can cheat!) It also offers an amazing hiding/resting environment for bottom feeders to call their own. Related - and akin to the real deal - it is easily cut up and portioned to fit any tank. The included hair grass plants are your standard variety, great for corners. The rock zen statue is quite cute, the background film good quality.I absolutely adore the additional visual depth the boxwoods provide. Per included photo, they make natural rock, silks and larger items truly blend into the tank. One catch: plants must rest on top of the boxwoods...so plan accordingly (i.e. create openings in the boxwood if you're looking to bury in the gravel/sand).All in all: this set is a steal for under $30. Piece meal, this is easily $50+, let alone from a brand name manufacturer.Great planting set, good looking quality material and makes the tank well decorated. I wish the ceramic wood logs, at least one of them had both sides open for fish to go thru. These are more for hiding spaces.I found these to be more realistic than many plastic aquarium plants, but not the very best. The mat is actually quite nice. The taller, spiky grass-like plants are not as realistic as I would like. Their too bright green color isn’t convincing either. I did not use the ‘rock’ decorations as I don’t like the way they look – it’s so easy to just use real rocks. But that’s JustMe. (I received this product in exchange for an honest review, and that is what I have offered here.)
